COMMON METHODS CARPETS

Handwoven carpets

For Common Methods, I’ve collaborate with the weavers of Design Afrika in Cape Town. We combined my visual esthetics with their knowledge about weaving and traditional craftsmanship. The carpets are made from grass and leather.
Common Methods is an on-going venture with a collaborative design and culture experience. They want to bring designers to uncommon territories, to stimulate new developments through collaboration that promotes knowledge exchange and personal development. The progress will be visible in a collection of products, created in a collaboration between the Dutch and South African designers, and the local manufacturers in its First Edition.
