Colourblocks

Colourblocks is a continuation of the project Leather Needlework. I was invited by Depot Basel to participate their exhibition 'Craft and Drawing'.

I designed three new pieces, colourblocks. 

Two of them I weft on the loom.

For White/Yellow I used different widths of leather to weave a tactile yellow shape within the white cotton.

For Pink/Orange I only used a cotton warp and combined this with leather. The orange shape combined with the pink fringes has a playful elegance.

For Black/Nude I used a tapestry technique, with this technique I made a circle of leather within a black rectangular textile grid.
